HIV/AIDS Prevention in the world of work: a tripartite response

Immediate Objective 1: Increase capacity of ILO’s tripartite constituents and Goa State AIDS Control Society to adopt and implement effective workplace policies and programmes to prevent the spread of HIV in the identified sectors, and reduce discrimination and stigmatization of PLWHA in Goa. Immediate Objective 2: Enhance tripartite action against HIV/AIDS in Goa, covering workers from formal as well as informal economy. Monitoring and evaluation: KABP surveys would be undertaken in identified sectors to serve as baseline and end line information to mark the progress. Work plans developed by GSACS, employers’ and workers’ organizations will have specific indicators. Status and quality materials/training tools and programme and the feedback from participants, key results of advocacy/capacity building efforts in terms of policy statements developed, peer educators trained at workplaces and individual workplans of partners. There will be an evaluation towards the end of project period to document the overall achievements of the project and key lessons.
