Associate Expert - DWT/CO-Pretoria

This is an Associate Expert Programme by which the incumbent is trained and given exposure to the ILO’s work at the local area office. The programme is intended to give admin support to the Pretoria Area Office as part of the Programming Unit. Specific areas of learning and practice includes reporting and overseeing the ILO’s country portfolio and workplans for Namibia and Botswana, as well as the Pta office’s work with the UN System and other stakeholders in the countries. In addition, the programme is aimed at giving specific exposure and practice in the ILO’s IPEC programme in South Africa. Lastly, the incumbent is representing the ILO in one of the South African UNCT’s working groups on the current UNDAF. The incumbent is given exposure to various technical fields within the organisation, such as child labour, youth employment, monitoring and evaluation, fundamental principles and rights and gender equality, to mention a few.
