Measuring poverty: Development of indicators of people's socio-economic security in Ukraine

The project was financed by the UNDP as an on-going activity from the previous years. The major activities of the Programme were mainly been in the vein of assessing the existing state of economic protection. At the core has been the collection of data at the macro, meso and micro levels through the database and the surveys. This information was subsequently analysed for policy recommendations and presented at a high-level national tripartite conference. This, however, was a 10th anniversary conference, which also brought out the changes in the socio-economic profile of the citizens since independence. The conference was attended by representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Secretariat of the President of Ukraine, top-level officials of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Ukraine, sector Ministries, leaders of organisations of employees and employers, leading scientists, NGOs, international donors.
