Capacity building for the delivery of gender sensitive of government services in South Africa

The overall objective of this project is for effective and efficient delivery of government services to the public, with tools and instruments for gender mainstreaming and gender analysis. 2006-2007 MAIN ACTIVITIES: Needs analysis within DPSA to determine scope and level of the intervention (c/o South African Management Development Institute – SAMDI). Advisory mission to study feasibility of technology transfer to SAMDI for implementation of on-line learning programme (E150333). Selection of key facilitators/assessors at national level (within and outside SAMDI and DPSA). Individualized learning process for selected key facilitators through on-line activities A151399 “On-line learning course on mainstreaming gender equality in an organizational context (GMS on-line)”and A151151 “On-line learning course on Gender, Poverty and Employment (GPE on-line)”. Face-to-face activities: A100908 “Training of gender audit facilitators” (Turin, 4 – 8 June 2007) and A151150 “Training of Trainers” (South Africa, 22 – 26 October 2007).
