HIV/AIDS Workplace Education Programme in China
The project will have contributed to: a) a reduced level of employment-related discrimination against persons living with HIV/AIDS; and b) reduced HIV/AIDS risk behaviour among targeted workers. To this end, activities are aimed at the national and workplace levels, culminating and impacting the individual level as stated in the aforementioned project objectives. At the national level, project activities will include: Increasing Capacity of the National Partners to Support Development of Workplace Policy and Programmes; Improving National Level Policy Framework Related to HIV/AIDS at the Workplace; Improving Coordination and Cooperation between the National Partners; These will involve conducting mapping exercises, capacity-building training; establishing a coordination mechanism; holding stakeholder consultations and designing interventions. At the workplace level, activities will include: Improving HIV/AIDS workplace policy or guidelines; Increasing availability of quality HIV/AIDS-workplace services; Increasing capacity of workplace to offer comprehensive HIV/AIDS policy and programmes on a sustained basis; and Increasing levels of workplace collaboration and commitment by labour and management. This will be carried out through conducting assessment of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; conducting mapping exercise; designing interventions, holding briefing sessions with partners; formulation of Plan of Action on HIV/AIDS and the world of work with clear linkage to the national strategic framework; collection of information and training resources; conceptualizing an easy-to-use system of presenting the resource material, launching the online resource centre at a meeting of the stakeholders.
