Promoting Decent Work and Gender Equality in Yemen (Award 500200)

The project aims to improve women’s employability and gender equality in policies and programmes as they apply to labour force participation in addition to raising awareness on decent work and gender equality. The project will capitalize on the extensive institutional capacity building provided to the Directorate General of Women Workers in the Ministry of Social Affairs and labour and social partners. The outcomes of the projects focus on: a) institutional capacities of MOSAL, employers and workers and other key stakeholders strengthened and operationalized in addressing gender inequalities in the labour market; b) policies more responsive to women workers and gender issues in the labour market are advocated through a national Advocacy Platform in line with the Women Employment Strategy; c) awareness on decent work and gender equality raised among women and men workers in public and private sectors through implementation of a tripartite training programme.
