2006 Programme of Japanese Technical Officers
The Japanese Technical Officers Programme was established under the ILO/Japan Multi-bilateral Programme in 2003. The programme aims to provide on-the-job training at the ILO for selected Japanese junior professionals to enhance their expertise in their respective technical fields as well as to provide them with exposure to the ILO. The programme also helps to strengthen Japan’s technical contribution to the ILO’s technical cooperation programmes. Under this programme, a few Japanese junior professionals will be recruited each year and assigned to work in different ILO offices in the Asia and Pacific Region. It is expected that the skills and knowledge of these officers in their respective areas will be improved and expanded, and consequently increase the visibility of Japan’s contribution to ILO’s technical cooperation programme.
