Socially responsible restructuring via social dialogue and social finance in Serbia - Putting in practice policy recommendations: the Serbian Railways

The project aims at increasing the effectiveness of social dialogue mechanisms in the design and implementation of plans for re-integration of redundant workers in the process of restructuring of large public enterprises, taking the Serbian railways as a pilot sector. In order to achieve this objective, the project will both contribute to improve the knowledge of the social partners in the development of re-integration plan and provide advisory services to government institutions and the social partners. In addition, the involvement of several stakeholders will foster a more coordinated and holistic approach to re-integration measures of redundant workers and guarantee ownership of the process. On the basis of the re-integration plan agreed upon at mid-term of the evaluation of the project, task forces will be created to coordinate the different categories of measures. Secretarial support located in the Serbian Railways will be provided by the project to assist the work of the task forces.
