Teaching Master courses at Maastricht University 2006-2007

The project finances ILO assistance to the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (University of Maastricht - UM) in delivering the joint UM/ILO Master courses in (i) Social Policy Financing (SPF) and (ii) Social Policy Design (SPD). Objective: the two Master programmes provide training to financial specialists in social protection for government agencies and social protection institutions, and are a pivotal contribution to the improvement of governance in national social protection sectors; the project thus contributes directly to Strategic objective 3a.2. Activities: Specifically, during academic year 2006/07, ILO experts will deliver Master courses on: Financing social protection; Social budgeting; Actuarial practice in social protection; Quantitative techniques in health care financing; Social policy design and international social security law; ILO Pensions Model course, which includes the teaching, and formulation and correction of final exams. Under the project ILO experts will also deliver revised versions of the course ‘block-books’ or annotated course outlines.
