Effective action for labour migration policies and practice

The overall objective of the project is to maximize the potential of international labour migration as an instrument for sustainable development, poverty reduction and integration in different regions. Following objectives should be completed by the end of the project: • Member States and social partners have improved their capacities for effectively managing international labour migration and enhancing its positive contributions. • Member States, social partners and other concerned agencies have become familiar with the principles and guidelines of the ILO Multilateral Framework on Labour Migration and are using them in designing and improving their policies and programmes on labour migration. ILO research activities and databases on labour migration have been updated and expanded to provide a useful knowledge base to member states and other constituents.
