Strengthening social security and coverage for all through ILO social security standards: Academic consultation workshop and drafting of a technical paper to be presented to ILO constituency

The Governments of Germany and the Netherlands have requested the ILO to prepare a paper analysing “How social security coverage for all could be enhanced” which outlines and analyses the present situation regarding the ratification of ILO Conventions and the current Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All, and on the other hand presents various options to improve the present situation. In addition, the two Governments have requested that the Office undertake consultations during this process with a view to presenting the constituents by January 2008 with a document to be discussed in an appropriate forum within the ILO framework.
