Preliminary Assessment of Health Insurance Options in Sierra Leone

The project focuses on assessing options to extend access to health services through health insurance in Sierra Leone. The assessment will consider supply-side factors, demand side factors, institutional capacities, and interests of different ILO constituents and other key actors. Particular focus will be placed on covering informal economy workers. The immediate objective of the project is the delivery of a review covering the above-mentioned aspects under the particular consideration of informal economy workers and their families. Based on a review of existing research and related reports, documents and other sources of information, a team of specialists will carry out a preliminary assessment mission and develop an initial assessment of the feasibility of different health insurance options in Sierra Leone.
