Promotion and application of Indigenous Peoples' rights: San Peoples of Namibia

The project aims at strengthening the capacity of key ministries to include the rights of the San people in development programmes and activities and to improve the coordination among national and international development partners to increase the efficiency of the development programmes targeting the San. The project will undertake a study of existing legal framework and policies as well as a needs assessment before designing the training courses, workshops and seminars for capacity-building. A national Working Group on San issues will be established along with institutionalized mechanisms for consultation and participation of the San communities. An internet-based resource platform will ensure the exchange of experiences among all partners.
