Green Jobs in Brazil: Needs and opportunities

To get national authorities and stakeholders committed to create green jobs as a mechanism to overcome the financial crisis (‘Green Recover’) and to promote the sustainable development. Under the worldwide Green Jobs Initiative, this goal will be pursued through: (i) a process of tripartite dialogue on the potential for the generation of green jobs in Brazil among government (federal, state and municipal levels), business leaders, workers and the public at large; and (ii) the design of a strategy for mainstreaming green jobs into employment generation programmes. Main deliverables are: 1 – A broad social dialogue process developed for raising awareness among stakeholders, as well as for fostering the mainstreaming of green jobs into employment generation programmes. 2 – Inputs provided for the designing and discussion of a public policies and private sector initiatives for the generation of green jobs, under employment generation programmes especially in the construction sector. in Brazil
