Study to introduce relief fund for loss of unemployment benefits

The purpose of the Services is to give input to SOCSO (Malaysia) for the strengthening of social protection by: 1.1 Devising the legal and administrative framework for the implementation of the relief fund for Loss of Employment Benefits in the social insurance system, and the introduction of new principles for the coverage of employees; 1.2 Establishing the conceptual and financial framework for the extension of risk pooling as a means of upgrading the existing legal entitlements to unemployment protection under labour legislation of employees within the scope of the Employee’s Social Security Act, 1969. 1.3 The present strategy is to extend the coverage and available protection to the contingency of Loss of Employment Benefits. The expected main result is to bring about an extension and strengthening of social security protection.
