Elimination of Underage Recruitment in Myanmar (Component 2010)
The recruitment and use of child soldiers is a continuing problem in Myanmar. The phenomenon exists, notwithstanding the putting into place of laws, regulations, orders and solemn declarations, in both the Official Government of Myanmar Armed Forces and many of the Non State armed groups operational in the Country. This project is targeted to support the ILO objective of eliminating the use of forced labour, including underage recruitment, and to fulfil the Monitoring and Reporting responsibility in respect of Security Council Resolution 1612 concerning Children in Armed Conflict.
