Republic of Moldova: Building capacity for coordination of social security for migrant workers

This project aims to improve the social security benefits for Moldovan migrant workers by enhancing the capacity of the Moldovan government in negotiating, adopting, and implementing the bilateral social security agreements with major destination countries of Moldovan migrant workers. The project contributes to improve the impact of migration on development and on poverty reduction by ensuring the right of social security for the Moldovan migrant workers and their families. Development objective: The proposed project will contribute to improve the impact of migration on development and on poverty reduction through better social and economic security for the Moldovan migrant workers and their families. Immediate Objective: At the end of the project, the Government and social security organisations in the Republic of Moldova will have improved their knowledge and capacity in preparing, negotiating and implementing the bilateral agreements on social security. Output 1.1: Improved tools and guidance on the preparation, negotiation and implementation of social security agreements, tailored for CEE countries. Output 1.2: Government officials in a better position to understand the preparation, negotiation and implementation of social security agreements. Output 1.3: Regional knowledge-sharing on the promotion of social security agreements
