Decent Work Country Programme Support Project
The development objective of the project is to contribute to poverty reduction in Mozambique, through the creation of decent employment, and achieving women's empowerment and gender equality. The overriding aim of the project will be to build the capacity of local partners in such a way that the ILO's approaches and tools in will be embedded and continuous. In line with Mozambique's emerging Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) priority areas, this project will consist of two components: Women's entrepreneurship development This component will seek to promote women's entrepreneurship as a means of empowering women, creating decent and productive employment and reducing poverty. Women workers' rights This component of the project will seek to make women workers more aware of their rights, and facilite advocacy campaigns for these rights to be given practical effect. A particular emphasis will be placed on promoting ILO's four "equality conventions".
