Mainstreaming tripartism and strengthening the capacity of employers' organizations across ILO/Sweden Partnership programme for 2009-2013
The overarching objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the ILO to better respond to the needs of the employer constituency in delivering strategic objectives and outcomes that are the focus of the ILO/Sweden Partnership Programme for 2009-2013. It is anchored in the ILO Strategic Policy Framework for 2010-2015 and the Programme and Budget for 2010-2011 and aims to mainstream tripartism and build employers’ capacity in delivering outcomes on job-rich growth, occupational safety and health and freedom of association. The project focuses on developing knowledge and tools to strengthen the capacity of employers’ organizations to contribute to job-rich growth and promotion of sustainable enterprise in the framework of relevant ILO policy decisions. Other components include developing global tools to enable employers’ organizations to contribute to the national OSH policies and practices as well as addressing some of the knowledge gaps on freedom of association. The project strategy foresees close cooperation with the relevant technical units and ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin.
