East Timor’s Programme to Eliminate the Worst Forms of Child Labour

This project is supposed to help Timor Leste implement the recently ratified conventions through the exchange of experiences from the Brazilina Ministry of Labour and Employment; Brazilian National Forum on the Elimination Child Labour (FNPETI); and National Confederation of Industry (CNI). The Development Objective is to To contribute to the implementation of the ILO Convention 182 in East Timor through 2 Immediate Objectives, which are: 1 - To set up a Child Labour tripartite Commission capable of strengthening the social dialogue mechanism and enhance consultation process in the implementation of child labour policies. 2 – To develop a list of the types of work that is likely to harm the health, safety or morals of children, in order to become the national list of hazardous types or conditions of work forbidden from children below 18.
