Reducing Stigma and Discrimination in the Workplace

The strategy targets the employers and employees and their families selected in the Agriculture sector, and the transport sector in Malawi. This shall include mobile workforce as they are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection. Communities at high traffic areas, people living and working near cross border sites, construction sites, passengers, transport companies. Objectives • To support the enterprise level implementation of the National HIV and AIDS workplace Policy and the Strategic Framework of Action for the Transport Sector in Malawi to help reduce stigma and discrimination in targeted workplaces including one enterprise in the agriculture sector. Proposed Interventions 1. Support to the implementation of the National HIV and AIDS workplace Policy and the Strategic Framework of Action for transport Sector in Malawi (one enterprise) and building the capacity of the staff and management of one enterprise in the agriculture sector for an effective implementation of HIV and AIDS policies and programmes.
