Project on the Measurement of Employment and Decent Work in the Tourism Industries

The work to be carried out is part of the ILO/UNWTO initiatives in the field of labour statistics and is an integral part of the statistical component of the ILO/UNWTO signed in early 2009. The objectives are threefold: i) Finalisation and publication of the joint ILO/UNWTO Technical Guide on Best Practices of Measuring Employment in Tourism Industries ii) Testing the applicability of the recommendations included in the Guide in three countries with developed statistical systems and tourism services iii) Measuring decent work in tourism industries The work under (iii) will be based on the ILO core set of DW indicators, tested in three countries with developed statistical systems and tourism services and result in the preparation of a Decent Work Profile in Tourism Industries
