Peer review of the Tenth Actuarial Valuation of the Kuwait Public Institution for Social Security

The ILO has extended its technical collaboration to the Government of Kuwait for many years. It has contributed to developing sound actuarial practices in Kuwait. Prior to the current project, the ILO used to directly undertake the formal actuarial valuations of the Public Institution for Social Security. The ILO is however changing its role to deliver a formal peer review of the Tenth Actuarial Valuation as of the end of financial year 2006/07 to be undertaken by a third party actuarial team. Outputs (1) A mission reporting on the facts arising from the technical consultations with the counterparts in Kuwait and the third party actuarial team in Quebec. (2) An ILO technical report on the peer review of the Tenth Actuarial Valuation as of 31 March 2007 of the schemes operated by the KPISS, including a certification statement and possible recommendations in relation to ILO principles and values.
