Influenza Prevention, Pandemic Preparedness and Business Continuity at the Workplace (Phase III)

The project intends to launch efforts for influenza prevention at the workplace in Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The project will strengthen the capacity of ILO Constituents (workers unions, employers associations, and governments) to develop and implement policies and programmes on workplace preparedness that will ensure business continuity and will prevent discrimination and abuses, protecting workers’ rights and promoting social security. To support its action, the project will implement practical training programmes making use of ILO tools on influenza prevention and pandemic preparedness at the workplace and on business continuity planning. Participatory methodologies based on social dialogue will be applied, and ILO standards and principles will be disseminated to enhance workers’ safety and health, and ultimately reach their families, neighbourhoods and communities.
