Managing Cross-border Movement of Labour in Southeast Asia

The overall objective of project RAS/10/07/JPN "Managing cross-border movement of labour in Southeast Asia" is to promote decent employment opportunities at home and abroad through effective labour migration management. The project duration is from 1 April 2010 to 31 December 2010 for a total amount of US$207,017. The recipients in the countries covered (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia and Thailand) are labour and manpower ministries and other government agencies involved in migration and cross-border movement; members of national and local parliaments, national workers' and employers' organizations, provincial and local government agencies, private recruiting agencies, labour sending communities, NGOs and community-based organizations that promote the rights and welfare of migrant workers, etc. The ultimate beneficiaries are migrant workers in the participating countries of the project.
