Use of International Labour Law by National Courts: Institutional Capacity Strengthening Project-Second Phase

The current Project Proposal, funded by SIDA, aims at completing the first phase of the judicial training activities on ILS that took place in close collaboration with the Justice Professionals Training Centre (JPTC) and the ILO Training Centre, Turin. The Proposal aims at: 1) organising initial workshops in selected main regions; 2) building up the capacity of national trainers through TOT; 3) adapting a training curriculum to be incorporated at the JPTC. Main categories of beneficiaries include Federal and Regional First Instance Labour Bench Judges, Federal High and Supreme Court Judges, and JPTC Trainers. The project approach is based on two main pillars: 1) capacity-building through ToT; 2) sustainability, through the adaptation of a training curriculum. The ILO ITC, Turin, will contribute to above activities.
