Equipping the Workforce with the Skills Required for Strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth

The purpose of the present proposal is to ensure that following the G20 Summit in June 2010 the momentum is maintained and the global strategy is widely disseminated and shared with the national institutions and international centres of excellence in the area of vocational training and skills development. In particular, the proposal aims to ensure that national systems and institutions in developing and emerging countries also buy into the strategy and adapt it to their national and regional contexts. Using the G20 document as a benchmark of a coherent training strategy, national and international policy makers will share knowledge and experiences on their own existing policies and practices and learn innovative approaches in other countries, and reflect on their possible adaptation to their own needs and circumstances. To this end, the strategy document, originally in English, will be translated into French and Spanish to facilitate participation from African and Latin American institutions ad support a wide dissemination of the document in different geographic areas
