Combating child labour through education
The Global Conference on Child labour held in The Hague during May 2010 highlighted the fact that acceleration of progress in tackling child labour requires public policies – particularly on education and social protection – to more effectively integrate attention to child labour. The primary objective of the proposed project is to strengthen the policy level linkages between work on child labour and education, leading to national level action which will improve the opportunities for those in, or vulnerable to child labour, to benefit from education. This will be pursued primarily through intensified efforts to integrate attention to child labour in education sector planning processes. At the same time, the project will also support other strategic initiatives to advance efforts to tackle child labour through education.
