YEN’s Youth-to-Youth Fund for Entrepreneurship Development
The YEN Youth to Youth Fund is a competitive grant scheme for youth employment. The grant scheme supports innovative, small scale youth employment projects submitted by youth led organizations. Grants of 5,000 to 20,000 USD are awarded to proposals chosen by a selection committee of technical specialists and a high level finalist Jury, based on predefined criteria. With support from the Danish led Africa Commission YEN launched a first call for proposals in 2010 focusing on youth entrepreneurship in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda). The demand has been very strong with around 700 project proposals received from the three countries. Several calls are planned for the forthcoming years. The project proposes BASF to become a co sponsor of the next call for proposals scheduled for early 2011.
