Strengthening Access Rights of Indigenous Peoples to Land and Other Natural Resources

The proposed project will contribute to reducing poverty and promoting self-determined development among indigenous communities in Cambodia by ensuring effective implementation of national legislation, policies and regulation in accordance with the principles of ILO Convention No. 169 and other relevant ILO Conventions as well as relevant international instruments. Building on achievement and lesson learned from the previous phases as well as existing working partnership with MoI, MRD, NGOs and IP organizations, the project will further support the scaling up of the processes for the determination of identity and registration of indigenous communities as legal entities; and enable the communities which have been registered with MoI to develop the internal rule on land use and management in which it will address economic opportunities by linking with related projects while building capacities of traditional leaders.
