Assess HIV vulnerability of sex worker returnee from India to design HIV prevention, treatment and care services
Executive Summary This UNAIDS PAF project aims to assess the HIV vulnerabilities among returning Nepalese sex workers from India and design HIV prevention, treatment and care package tailored to their needs based on the findings. The project is executed by ILO in collaboration with UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, UNICEF and UNAIDS Secretariat. The needs assessment will form the evidence-base to enrich current knowledge which could contribute to improving responses for this population. In the short term the results of needs assessment wilinform the national strategic plan to ensure returning sex workers ‘ rights are protected as well ensuring their access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services. In the longer term, these consideration will be incorporated into the national strategic plan to support the development of appropriate responses for this population.
