Employment Services For Palestinian Refugees in South Lebanon

DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE The project will contribute to poverty reduction and social inclusion of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon through skills development and employment generation PROJECT OUTCOMES 1. Improved employability of young Palestinian women and men through an integrated set of services under newly established UNRWA employment service centres (ESCs Saida and Tyre) and which include skills development, job referrals, apprenticeships and on-the-job training programmes 2. Enhanced employment support services through sustainable UNRWA employment services. At the end of the project UNRWA ESCs will be institutionalised within UNRWA structure and would have referred job seekers to decent job opportunities, reached out to employers on identifying job vacancies and have consequently increased the number of Palestinian job seekers in the labour market. 3. Strengthened efficiency and capacity to deliver professional services of UNRWA ESC ensured through ILO technical support. 4. Connectivity of employment services to partners and stakeholders such as the Ministry of Labour, the National Employment Office, Employers and Workers organizations, civil society is enhanced including a comprehensive approach on advocacy for Palestinian refugees under the overall Decent work agenda of the ILO.
