Improvement of Services of Employment Service Job Centers in Lao PDR for Migrant Workers
This project "Improvement of Services of Employment Service Job Centers in Lao PDR for Migrant Workers" (LAO/11/03/JPN), is a follow-up activity to the project Cross-Border Movement of Labour in Southeast Asia and its objective is to further develop national Employment Services (ES) to benefit all people in Lao PDR. The Employment Service Job Centers play essential and valuable roles for reducing the unemployment rate and assisting jobseekers in finding suitable jobs, and employers finding the right workers. The project aims to: - improve the knowledge and information on employment services through the development and publication of manuals and tools; - build the capacity of the officials of the ESJC in the MOLSW so that they are able to understand the functioning of the system and procedures for better and efficient service delivery; - collect and document good practices and lessons learned which could be shared and adapted among the network of ESJCs; and - improve service delivery of the ESJCs through increased jobseeker registrations and job placements.
