TVETE Component of the UN joint programme on creating youth opportunities for employment in South Sudan

In the wake of the South Sudan Vocational Training Policy and of the support to the SSVTP implementation strategy provided by the ILO between 2008-10, and continued through the ILO led MDGF Project of Youth Employment and Migration, Skills component, this project will assist the Government of South Sudan to continue the ongoing. In particular, the project will ensure the presence of technical assistance to the Ministry of Labour to establish with the Ministry of Education, an inter-ministerial framework for providing youth in South Sudan with market-led skills training . The framework aims at sustaining the implementation of a Technical Vocational Education and Training for Employment (TVETE) system that will comprise policies, curricula,short duration courses, standards and certification, and institutional capacity development.The project will establish a common TVETE framework and key components of the system: harmonized curricula, unified standards and a certification process for 6 and 9 month courses.
