Decent Work Deficit of Women/Children from Afghan Refugees and Host Communities in Pakistan Start Date: October 1, 2011 End Date: February 29, 2012 Total Budget: USD 153,866 P&B Outcome: 19 (021225.10) - Member States place an integrated approach to decent work at the heart of their economic and social policies, supported by key UN and multilateral agencies RBS Outcome: PAK 126 - The Decent Work Agenda mainstreamed into the One UN Reform Pilot Programme Objectives 1. Rapid assessment surveys to develop knowledge base regarding decent work deficit for women and children from Afghan refugee/Host Communities in Pakistan. Two video documentaries will be developed depicting employment situation of these target groups. The information compiled would result in increased awareness of policy makers, donors, media and general public about the importance and functions of adult literacy and NFE programs, and to overcome decent work deficits of migrant workers; and 2. Advocacy for policy reforms with parliamentarians, government officials, employers and workers organizations, and media for mainstreaming educational and vocational/skill training services with special focus on Afghan women and child labourers and awareness raising to promote their educational and decent work needs.
