Improvement of agriculture production through strengthening of agricultural extension services and increased technical inputs (WIND)

The Project will become the continuation of the 2010 project aimed at improvement of agricultural production implemented under the Expanded Delivering As One Funding Window (DAO). The One UN Programme in Kyrgyzstan focuses on six thematic areas: (1) Social services, (2) Food security, (3) Agriculture, (4) Energy, (5) Environment, (6) Risk Management. The Project will address sectoral specificities of the agricultural production and use best practices to limit job losses and support job creation stimulating sustained economic activity. Capacities of the local communities and the local authorities in the remote low-growth areas will be developed to increase food security and alleviate poverty through better agricultural production practices and new jobs creation. The project is an integral part of UNDP Poverty Reduction Programme and will be built on already existing infrastructure and capacities available in the provinces to assist the effective and efficient implementation of the Project’s outputs.
