Diagnostic study for the implementation of access to financial services for low income women households and entrepreneurs in Ethiopia
A Flagship UN Joint Programme on “Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE)” has been signed between the Government of Ethiopia (represented by the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth Affairs - MOWCYA and Ministry of Finance and Economic Development - MOFED) and the participating UN Agencies. The ILO is the UN agency leading Output 1 on Economic Empowerment of Women, which is aimed at achieving increased accessibility of financial and non-financial services for economically disadvantaged women. A consulting firm will be recruited by the partners in result area 1 to evaluate the programmes through which grants and revolving credits being undertaken/supported by UNICEF and ILO together with partner agencies, is preparing to launch a Diagnostic study for the implementation of Access to Financial Services for Low income Women Households and Entrepreneurs in Ethiopia. (Please refer to the TOR) This study will contribute to the overall JP on Women Economic Empowerment. A joint technical and financial bid opening and evaluation committee comprised of UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women and ILO recommended a consulting firm to undertake the implementation of the terms of reference jointly agreed upon.
