Teaching Master courses (academic year 2011-12) for the SPF and SPD, Public Policy and Human Development Master Programme specializations at Maastricht University
The project will provide assistance to the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance of the Maastricht University (UM) in the framework of the joint UM/ILO Master course in Public Policy and Human Development, specialization Social Policy Financing (SPF) as well as the specialization in Social Policy Design (SPD). The two Master programme specializations provide training to financial specialists in social protection for government agencies and social protection institutions and are a pivotal contribution to the improvement of governance in national social protection sectors. The project concerns arrangements for the up-coming academic year 2011/12 and covers the ILO’s contribution to the Programme in providing the following three courses: (1) Financing social protection (2) Social budgeting (3) Actuarial practice in social protection The project will deliver: - revised versions of the course block-books (i.e. annotated outlines of the courses); - course teaching, including the formulation of, and subsequent correction of final exams. Schedule of activities and institutional arrangements The standard courses (1), (2) and (3) (above under section 2) will be taught during academic year 2011/2012 according to the established University schedule in the form of three four-week blocks by three groups of two senior experts for each of the courses.
