Labour incomes and employment
The purpose of the joint EC-ILO study is to (i) document and assess the factors underlying wage developments, notably in developing and emerging economies; and (ii); develop a framework for examining the impact of wage policies on a number of economic, employment and social objectives. This latter component will be the basis of future collaborative efforts between the EC and ILO to assess the implications of various policy instruments in this area. The joint project will help augment the work and policy development of the European Commission., notable Europe 2020, the EU's growth strategy for the coming decade. At the same time, it is also consistent with the ILO’s objectives as set out in the Strategic Policy Framework (2010-15), notably providing greater opportunities for women and men to secure decent employment and income.
