Better Work Indonesia - Phase II (USDOL)
The Better Work Indonesia (BWI) program was established at the end of 2010 with funding from AusAID. BWI seeks to improve working conditions and productivity in targeted employment-intensive sectors. It will do this by improving compliance by Indonesian enterprises, especially those who are linked to global supply chains in the apparel industry, with international core labour standards and Indonesian labour law. In parallel, the program will also promote productivity and competitiveness of these enterprises with an initial focus on the apparel industry in the Greater Jakarta area and with a view to expanding to other industries and geographic areas.
