Promoting Decent Work through good governance, protection and empowerment of migrant workers - Phase II

The ILO Colombo office has been supporting the Government of Sri Lanka to implement selected areas of the National Labour Migration Policy from 2010 to 2012. This was facilitated and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Sri Lanka. A second phase of the project is proposed to ensure strategic continuation of programmes and initiatives supported in the first phase with the purpose of ensuring safe migration for the women and men of Sri Lanka. In supporting the Government in its continued commitment to International Frameworks and Conventions, ILO seeks to strengthen initiatives at the policy level and engage in initiatives that cascade towards the community level in this proposed project.
