Joint UN follow-up to the ILO Social Protection Floors Recommendation (No. 202): Monitoring and assessing social protection systems with respect to progress in implementing R202
The project is part of a larger set of activities in the context of the joint UN follow-up to the ILO Social Protection Floors Recommendation (No. 202). The Social Protection Floor Initiative and SPIAC-B agreed to collaborate on various areas including: - Country assessments, including harmonization of social protection data and statistics - Technical assistance to countries - Operational linkages with other areas of work - Capacity and institution building Immediate Objectives: The definitions and classifications for social protection data, statistics and indicators to assess social protection systems, in particular regarding their compliance with R202 is improved Output 1: The knowledge base about how to improve the harmonization of social protection data, statistics and indicators is strengthened through the joint production of two background papers for the guidebook. Output 2: An online discussion forum is set up and managed for ongoing exchange and discussion between members of the statistics working group of the SPIAC-B. Output 3: An outline and roadmap for the development of a guidebook on statistical capacity building in the context of the implementation of national social protection floors is agreed upon
