Strengthening labour administration and labour inspection services in India

Through the project “Strengthening labour administration and labour inspection services in India”, the ILO will assist the constituents in India both at national and state levels in their efforts to strengthen and modernize their labour administration machinery and labour inspectorates, building on earlier advice given and reforms already envisaged, to help them enhance their overall effectiveness and impact. As already mentioned, the project will build upon the earlier ILO pilot interventions on labour administration and labour inspection services in two states by extending to other selected states and to institutionalize at the national level. The project will support implementation of DWCP 2013-17 outcome “Enhanced social dialogue on labour governance and on compliance with labour laws” under the priority “Labour administration, tripartism and social dialogue at national and state levels enhanced”.
