Strengthening capacity of employers' organizations
This project will strengthen the institutional capacity of employers' organizations (EOs) to contribute to job rich growth through effective policy and social dialogue. This initiative is in line with ILO’s response to the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon and with ILO’s first Decent Work Country Programme for Lebanon. It will build upon the main achievements of ILO’s work with EOs over the last few years and place employment issues on the national agenda. This project aims at developing solutions, in conformity with current Lebanese laws, by providing a solid foundation for sustained economic growth. Interventions will support business expansion and new investments in labour-intensive sectors, such as the agriculture and agro-food sector, while at the same time directly provide additional job opportunities for both Lebanese and Syrians. The focus will be to improve EO information on the agro-food sector; improve value chain development in agro-food; and improve provision of targeted services to member companies, mainly Business-to-Business Matchmaking services.
