Support GSP+ beneficiary countries to effectively implement ILS and comply with reporting obligations. Cabo Verde
The project supports the application of ILO fundamental Conventions and human rights in Cabo Verde with a focus on forced labour, child labour, and equal remuneration between men and women. It also aims at improving compliance with standards-related obligations concerning the eight fundamental ILO conventions. Particular attention is given to inter-institutional coordination; capacity building; technical assistance for fulfilling reporting obligations; and dialogue facilitation between tripartite constituents (trade unions, employers organizations and the Government). The involvement of other stakeholders, such as parliamentarians, judges, legal professionals, national human rights institutions and media contributes to maximise results. In order to achieve the project results, activities carried out include awareness-raising initiatives and trainings on the content of selected fundamental ILS, discussions with national stakeholders and relevant UN agencies in the country on legislative changes and other measures to be implemented in light of the supervisory bodies’ comments and strengthening the reporting capacity of tripartite constituents.
