Support GSP+ beneficiary countries to effectively implement ILS and comply with reporting obligations. THAILAND
The project aims to support the application of ILO fundamental Conventions and human rights in Thailand with a focus on Forced Labour Convention, 1930 (No. 29). This intervention is achieved by assisting the country in meeting its reporting obligations to the ILO and strengthening the institutional capacity of the Government particularly with regard to addressing the comments made by the ILO Supervisory bodies on the application of Convention No. 29. The projects also promotes the application of the Forced Labour (Supplementary Measures) Recommendations, 2014 (No. 203) and the ratification of the Protocol of 2014 to Convention No. 29. The intervention includes a gap analysis on the existing national mechanisms, laws and policies to address trafficking and forced labour which are not in line with the requirements under Convention No. 29 and the Forced Labour Protocol. The Government is also assisted through the project in the process of revising its legal and policy frameworks on the recruitment and employment of migrant labour.
