Better Factories Cambodia Stage III (2016 – 2018)
DFAT funding will be used on supporting the Better Factories Cambodia phase III (2016-2018). Based on the country specific goals of the BFC project; i.e. roll-out of adjusted service delivery model in existing factories and continued expansion to footwear factories; strengthened collaboration with the government; and implementation of strategy to increase the long term viability of the BFC programme, at the end of the project phase, BFC expects to achieve the following outcomes: Outcome 1: Cambodian exporting factories in the garment and footwear sector will have strengthened their capacity to improve and uphold compliance with the labour law. Outcome 2: BFC will have strengthened its engagement with the Cambodian government to improve their capacity to identify, non-compliance issues, strengthen enforcement, and uphold labour standards. Outcome 3: BFC will have strengthened its engagement and partnerships with key stakeholders for increased influence and impact on working conditions in factories and the systemic issues in the sector as a whole. Outcome 4: BFC will have used its experience and data to inform and influence practices and policies related to responsible business practices in the industry. Outcome 5: BFC will have strengthened its governance and management for increased sustainability.
