Better Work Viet Nam - Stage III (2017-2019)
By June 2019, the BWV programme aims to have improved working conditions in and competitiveness of 500 factories with approx. 625,000 workers, more than three quarters of whom are women. The country specific goals of the BWV project include: 1. Roll out the adjusted service delivery model in all existing factories by increasing the number of factories it works with, expanding to the footwear factories and strengthen its presence in the Northern provinces. 2. Strengthen partnership with the government and other social partners for increased impact. BWV will focus on collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, expanding BW factory lessons to the larger industry, and testing implementation of the new elements of the Vietnamese Labour Law, esp. around the bipartite committees at the enterprise level. 3. Strengthen the viability of the BWV programme particularly in relation to establishment of a national institution for delivery of the core services, increasing the cost recovery, and building the capacity of national staff as leaders of the programme.
