Promoting fundamental conventions of the ILO - ratification of conventions 87, 98, 105

The purpose of this project is to implement a series of gender responsive interventions designed to improve the existing legal framework with respect to the elimination of forced labour and elimination of discrimination consistent with the ILO’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and support progress towards the ratification of three outstanding Fundamental ILO Conventions (Conventions 87, 98 and 105). This project is consistent with the One Strategic Plan of the UN, which is being appraised by the Government, which includes outcomes promoting "a fairer, inclusive labour market [that] ensures decent work and opportunities for all," (Outcome 3.2) and policies and institutions support a new economic model, which is inclusive and more productivity-led, reaping gains from trade liberalization, international integration and migration” (Outcome 3.1).
