Improving Indigenous Peoples' access to justice

This project is part of a broader programme, known as the Global Indigenous Navigator Initiative, which is comprised of two complementary projects. The present project will support (1) consolidation of the Indigenous Navigator Global-web site, including a data-portal, and the finalization of a set of tools and training materials, the broader dissemination of the Indigenous Navigator framework, and (2) training and capacity building of indigenous communities, their institutions and organizations, and data collection in a selected number of communities. On the basis of this, the complementary project under the GPGC-programme (“Making the SDGs work for indigenous peoples”), will support the production of reports, briefs and factsheets based on data collected through the Indigenous Navigator framework to feed into advocacy, dialogue and other engagement initiatives. This is expected to lead to policy change and improved enjoyment by indigenous peoples of their human rights and access to development.
